IOM resumes survey on migration and remittances
04 March 2015
In February 2015 IOM Mission in Ukraine in partnership with non-governmental organization “European Research Association”, resumed conduct of the nation-wide representative household survey within the framework of its project “Research and Policy Dialogue Initiative on Migration and Remittances in Ukraine”, funded by the Government of Canada.
The goals of the project include increasing awareness among key stakeholders on the nature, use and impact of remittances entering Ukraine, describing migrants’ and their households’ overall financial behaviour, including savings and consumption, as well as assessing the overall impact of migration on the country’s socio-economic development.
The survey will last till May 2015. The results will be used to develop evidence-based policy recommendations for the Government of Ukraine to better utilize migration capital for socio-economic development of Ukraine.
