Vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Donbas and Crimea currently residing in Kyiv, Sumy and Poltava regions are now also able to receive warm clothes, shoes, blankets, household goods, hygiene items and other forms of assistance through IOM’s partner organizations in these regions.

Adding these three regions to the 12 oblasts in which IOM's humanitarian assistance programme for IDPs is already active allows IOM to cover the regions hosting about 80 per cent of the total IDP population in Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the crisis, over 7,500 IDPs have been assisted by IOM in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Donetsk regions (town of Mariupol). Humanitarian aid provision was made possible with funding provided by the UN, the U.S., Norway, Switzerland and Germany.
