IOM and Ukrainian Ombudsman to Jointly Counter Discrimination

The interaction between IOM and the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) is further intensified. A renewed Agreement of Cooperation was recently concluded between the Ombudsman?s Office and IOM. The document was signed by the Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska and IOM Ukraine Chief of Mission Mr. Manfred Profazi. The Agreement is intended to consolidate efforts of the Parties on the protection of rights of migrants and countering xenophobia, ethnic and racial intolerance. IOM was also appointed a member of the Consultative Board of the Ombudsman?s Office and will be represented by the Specialist on Combatting Racism and Xenophobia Ms. Yana Salakhova.
