Announcement From the Resettlement Support Centre Eurasia
6 April 2021
The Resettlement Support Center (RSC) Eurasia, operated by IOM Ukraine, is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of refugee applicants and our staff around the world who support the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).
As a result of recent developments in the COVID-19 pandemic situation in our region, including increased in-country restrictions, the RSC has temporarily postponed several in-person operations and appointments for the safety of staff and refugee clients, including interviews and in-person cultural orientation.
Other RSC activities remain operating at limited capacity. The RSC or IOM will be in touch with you about next steps for your case. This may take a longer than usual, so we appreciate your patience.
Once your departure date is confirmed, we will advise you on your flight and any related travel arrangements. Until you are notified of your travel date, please avoid taking irreversible actions such as selling your furniture, obtaining government exit documents (if applicable), and vacating your home in order to prevent difficulties for you and your family if you are unable to travel on your scheduled flight. We also advise you to follow all health and safety recommendations issued by the local authorities and IOM. For the latest information regarding COVID-19 and how to best protect yourself and your family, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
In the meantime, please feel free to contact us if you have updates or questions about your case. As the volume of inquiries may be high, there may be delays and we kindly ask for your patience in addressing non-urgent matters.
It is also important to remember that the USRAP remains free of charge and applicants should not engage with anyone requesting payment for services in order to obtain information or a change in status on a case. Please report any instances of fraud or abuse to the RSC’s confidential email box at: FraudRSCEurasia@iom.int
Thank you for your understanding.
